Sandy Irene, R.Ph.Sandy Irene, R.Ph. – Chairman
Sandy graduated St. John’s University School of Pharmacy and has over 50 years of experience in the healthcare industry. During his career, Sandy has created several highly successful specialized pharmacies and other healthcare service businesses. In 1979, he founded CompuPharm.  Under his leadership, CompuPharm grew to service over 60,000 nursing home beds and was considered one of the nation’s largest privately owned long-term care pharmacies. CompuPharm was acquired in 1993 and is now part of the Omnicare Corporation.  Sandy was also a founder and the former Chairman of Managed Health Care Associates (MHA). Sandy helped grow MHA into the nation’s largest alternate care group purchasing organization. MHA was acquired by GTCR in 2004. Sandy was a founder of Armada Health Care and is currently Chairman of the company.



Lawrence S. Irene, R.Ph.Lawrence S. Irene, R.Ph. – Chief Executive Officer

Lawrence is a graduate St John’s University School of Pharmacy and active member of AMCP and NACDS. Lawrence has over 25 years of professional experience in the healthcare industry.  Lawrence was a founder of CompuPharm, a LTC pharmacy servicing 60,000 nursing home patients. Lawrence directed all contracting and purchasing activities at CompuPharm.  He successfully negotiated many innovative purchasing programs on branded products with the pharmaceutical manufacturers. He also led the development of many proprietary software systems that enabled the company to successfully measure patient outcomes and market share changes. Lawrence was also the co-founder and former CEO of Managed Health Care Associates (MHA).  Through his vision, leadership and contracting expertise, MHA grew to become the largest alternate care GPO.  In 2005, Lawrence co-founded Armada Health Care. Under his leadership, Armada has pioneered a host of unique contracting programs on specialty drugs and other cost effective channel management solutions for specialty pharmacies. Lawrence is currently Chief Executive Officer of Armada.



Robert J. Irene, R.PhRobert J. Irene, R.Ph. – President

Robert graduated St. John’s University School of Pharmacy and has over 25 years of professional experience in the healthcare industry.  Robert was a founder and the former President of CompuPharm, one of the nation’s largest privately owned long-term care pharmacies.  Robert was also the co-founder and former President of Managed Health Care Associates (MHA).  Under his leadership, MHA successfully established an industry wide acceptable trade class for LTC providers and grew to become the largest alternate care GPO.  In 2005, Robert then co-founded Armada Health Care. Armada has since successfully established the first industry wide acceptable trade class for Specialty Pharmacy.  Armada now offers the most extensive portfolio of contracting programs and member services on specialty drugs. Robert is currently President of Armada.



Thomas CohnThomas Cohn – Chief Strategy Officer

Thomas serves as chief strategy officer for Armada Health Care. With more than 20 years of experience in health care, he provides intrinsic knowledge of the industry and a proven track record for innovative thinking and program development.

Throughout his career, Thomas has designed and implemented software systems to better manage business operations and reporting. He is a published expert on software engineering practices and has served on the standards committees of the American Society for Automation in Pharmacy and National Council for Prescription Drug Programs. He is also an active member of NACDS and AMCP.

Prior to joining Armada, Thomas held positions at CompuPharm/NeighborCare, Neuman Wholesale Drug, and Managed Healthcare Associates (MHA), where he successfully developed software systems and Web tools for patient billing, auditing, inventory control, and patient care programs.

Thomas received his bachelor’s degree in computer and political science from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, N.J., and a master’s in computer science from the New Jersey Institute of Technology in Newark, N.J.


Ryan OliginoRyan Oligino - Vice President of Finance
Ryan joined Armada Health Care in early 2009 with over 10 years of finance and management experience.  Prior to joining Armada, Ryan spent the last 8 years at Merck & Co, Inc. most recently serving as the diabetes & obesity global franchise business director and prior to that as the global finance director for the cholesterol joint venture between Merck and Schering-Plough.  Ryan earned a B.S. from Providence College in management and a MBA from Columbia University in accounting and finance.

Brian BurkeBrian Burke – Vice President of Marketing
Brian provides oversight of the Customer Service Department as well as the marketing of manufacturer programs to Armada’s membership.

Brian has over 20 years of sales and marketing experience within the pharmaceutical industry. He brings insight from the manufacturer’s perspective and their interaction with managed care entities.

Brian has earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business from Seton Hall University and an MBA from Pace University.


Anthony DavinoAnthony Davino – Vice President of Manufacturer Relations
Anthony acts as the industry liaison coupling the manufactures needs with effective strategies that our member pharmacies can implement.  Building on his ten years of strategy and contract development he works with our manufacturer partners to deliver "First to Market" programs intended to maximize patient outcomes.
 
Before joining Armada, Anthony worked for Roche Laboratories holding roles in Finance, Strategic Pricing and Trade.  As a Manager in the Trade Segment of Customer Planning & Contracting, Anthony was responsible for the contracting continuum within the Specialty Pharmacy and Specialty Distributor class of trades.  This included Business Planning, Strategy & Tactical planning, the development of contracting strategies for new and in line products, oversight of day to day contracting activities and forecasting /reporting. Prior to that Anthony held the position of Economic Analysis Manager in the Strategic Pricing & Contracting Group where he worked on new and inline product pricing as well as GPO, Hospital, Clinic and MCO/PBM contracting strategies.
 
He has dual degrees in Economics and Italian from Rutgers College.


John LundquistJohn Lundquist – Vice President of Business Development
John Lundquist has 20+ years of experience in pharmaceutical sales, business development, operations, supply chain and group purchasing management. Prior to joining Armada Health Care, John directed a national Specialty/Biotech Distribution enterprise. A practiced strategist and negotiator, he is recognized for pioneering new business tactics and partnerships aimed at specialty pharmaceutical supply chain solutions. He has held executive positions with XStream Systems, Managed Healthcare Associates, AmerisourceBergen, HD Smith and Fujisawa USA. John received his bachelor of arts in Communications from Elmhurst College.
